The Foundation's primary focus is to care for the Club's architecturally important building. In accord with the IRS designation, funds are to be allocated to the building's exterior maintenance, preservation, structural elements, and fire protection. In addition, the Foundation may support scholarships for Yale University students and promote the work of the architect, James Gamble Rogers.
The Foundation has been the recipient of a large bequest from the estate of the late J. Scott Glascock, '74, which now serves as the endowment. Prudent investment of his bequest will provide an ongoing income stream. Additional revenues will be generated via fundraisers (such as the biannual Gala), special events, and direct solicitations.
Should a member wish, the Foundation would be thrilled to discuss a financial legacy of a non cash gift such as stocks, retirement funds, bequests, or real property.
When The Yale Club of New York City's Clubhouse at 50 Vanderbilt turned 100, the concept of The Yale Club Medal was formed. Members of the Anniversary Committee were quick to distinguish the Club's Medal from the Yale University medal. The Club's Medal would honor a Club member who had contributed to the success of the Club through professional accomplishment, active leadership, or significant participation in the life of the Club.
Upon the death of our beloved and immediate past president, J. Scott Glascock, '74, the Council voted to rename the medal in his honor - becoming the J. Scott Glascock Medal in 2016
